BEACH Program Update
July 27, 2018, Jefferson County Public Health has re-opened Herb Beck Marina Beach to water recreation. Recent water sampling determined that fecal bacteria levels were low and safe for swimming.
Contact with fecal-contaminated waters can result in gastroenteritis, skin rashes, upper respiratory infections, and other illnesses. Children and the elderly may be more vulnerable to waterborne illnesses.
