GIG HARBOR – The Washington Department of Ecology, U.S. Coast Guard and Gig Harbor
Fire Department responded to a sunken 28-foot pleasure craft Tuesday night at
Lucas Landing in Gig Harbor.
An undetermined volume of gasoline has leaked from the vessel into the harbor. The
fiberglass craft also contains an unknown amount of gasoline in its tanks. A
contractor, Global Diving and Salvage, has been hired to conduct the cleanup.
Ecology is working with the Coast Guard and the contractor to monitor the cleanup. More
information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
