Today, July 20, 2012, the BEACH Program issued a swimming advisory at Mukilteo Lighthouse Park in Mukilteo, WA. The advisory is issued because of elevated bacteria levels in the marine water and in a nearby stormwater discharge outfall.Contact with fecal contaminated waters can result in gastroenteritis, skin rashes, upper respiratory infections and other illnesses. Children and the elderly may be more vulnerable to waterborne illnesses.
