Fecal Matters: 7-day No Contact Advisory Issued for Dyes Inlet Beaches, Kitsap County

BEACH Program Update

On October 31, 2015 Kitsap County Health District issued a 7-day "No Contact" swimming advisory for all Dyes Inlet saltwater beaches.  The public is advised to avoid any contact with the water in Dyes Inlet for 7-days. The closure is due to a sewage spill that discharged to a creek then to nearby Dyes Inlet.

Contact with fecal contaminated waters can result in gastroenteritis, skin rashes, upper respiratory infections, and other illnesses. Children and the elderly may be more vulnerable to waterborne illnesses.

Stay updated about water quality at your beaches by keeping up with us on our blog Fecal Matters, on Facebook, or join our listserv.
