Fecal Matters: No-contact advisory issued for the southern shoreline of Bainbridge Island

BEACH program update


Red shading at southern end of Bainbridge Island shows area to avoid contact.Kitsap Public Health District issued a no-contact health advisory for the southern shoreline of Bainbridge Island due to a 2,100 gallon sewage spill. The public is advised to avoid swimming, wading, or other types of water recreation. This advisory is in effect Feb. 3 - 10, 2019. 

Contact with fecal contaminated waters can result in gastroenteritis, skin rashes, upper respiratory infections, and other illnesses. Children and the elderly may be more vulnerable to waterborne illnesses.
